During the summer months, we practiced the skill of becoming independent, taking care of the space and yard, and preparing workshops for the new school year. We practiced social skills.
The garden made us happy again this year, and after diligent sowing and planting, we enjoyed picking vegetables and fruits in our garden plots and prepared delicious meals in OZANA.
The mentioned activities are part of the new three-year program “RUKE” financed by the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Welfare.
As part of the “I RECYCLE AND CREATE” project of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Nature, we continue to collect things for recycling and process old wood and textiles, turning them into new, useful products.
WATER STREAMS…Our Štrikeraj Cafe launched another interesting campaign: Nezaboravak” collection of woolen (crocheted, knitted, felt) water streams – as a symbol of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, which will be used to create an installation on the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21, 2023. Many Homes for the elderly and citizens have joined the campaign, so far we have collected 1200 pieces of watercress 😊
We also went to the cinema, and after the screening of the film, we had a little treat 😊
Summertime in Novi Vinodolski always makes us happy and this year we had a great time swimming and walking along the coast. Organized by the City Office for Social Protection, Health, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities
From 2.8.-4.9. In 2023, we set up an exhibition of the painting “Sea” in the Voltino Library. The picture was created at a joint workshop where Ozana users taught students of the fourth year of the Study for Social Work how to shape a sea world from wool. The technique of felting (processing and shaping of wool) is connecting wool threads with water and soap. This is ‘wet felting’ and dry felting is shaping with a needle. This picture of the ocean was created as a thank you to ‘mother nature’ because our survival on earth depends on her. Along with forests, the ocean is one of the biggest producers of oxygen on earth.
